Superior Industries International, a Van Nuys-based auto parts supplier, said it has hired Charles Barrantes as corporate controller.

Barrantes, a certified public accountant, recently served as vice president, finance, of MICA Resources Ltd., an aluminum processing and trading company. Previously, he had worked for 11 years as a senior manager with the accounting firm, Arthur Andersen & Co.

Among other products, Superior supplies cast aluminum wheels for Ford, General Motors and overseas markets. It also supplies automotive accessories and recreational vehicle products.
