Two grenades were thrown at the U.S. Embassy early today, but no injuries or damage were reported, a security guard said.

The grenades were thrown at the rear of the embassy from a gray car, the guard said. Only one exploded, he said.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. U.S. and Panamanian officials were meeting to discuss the incident and were not available for comment.
