Wang Memo Outlines More Job Cuts: After cutting thousands of jobs, Wang Laboratories Inc. plans to lay off another 500 workers in the next few weeks, according to an internal company memo. Wang, whose financial comeback has been stalled by the sluggish economy, already has cut its work force by more than a third from a high of about 31,000 in 1989. In a memo sent to the computer maker’s 19,000 employees last week, the company said the additional cuts are necessary “to preserve the gains that we have made over the last 16 months.”
