U.S. Launches Air Strikes in Persian Gulf
The solution to the high cost of Operation Desert Storm is really very simple. Since our “allies” in Japan and Europe stand to gain even more than we do, we should ask them to pay the monetary costs since the U.S. is going to pay the human costs.
If they refuse, we should put a 10% (or whatever it takes) duty surcharge on all imports from those countries. At best we will pay for all Mideast operations; at worst we’ll encourage people to buy American. Why allow our “allies” to laugh all the way to the bank while we save their tails and go broke for the privilege of doing so? We aren’t really that stupid, are we?
