Tornado GR1
Flown by British forces in the gulf, the Tornado is a two-seat, all-weather interceptor built by Panavia, a joint venture by Germany, Britain and Italy. It carries a mix of bombs or missiles suitable for hitting such targets as airfields and command centers. The twin-engine craft has a maximum speed of 1,400 m.p.h. At least two of the fighters were lost by the British in the early air raids on Iraq.
