Key to Ornaments

Share

The article “Ornamental Solution to the Souvenir Problem” by Beverly Stephen (Dec. 16) prompted us to write.

We have traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada and purchased Christmas tree ornaments along the way. We have a red coated Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman holding a Canadian flag made from dough which we found in Banff, Alberta, Canada; two wooden pilgrim dolls from Plymoth, Mass., and a little wooden George Washington doll from Mt. Vernon, Va.

When ornaments aren’t readily available, we have purchased fancy key rings depicting the area. We have a buffalo from Cody, Wyo.; the four Presidents from Mt. Rushmore, S.D.; a loon from Corner Brook, Newfoundland; a clown from Ringling Brothers Circus Museum in Baraboo, Wis. We find the key rings easy to pack, light to carry and available in most souvenir shops or drug stores along the way. They look nice hanging on our Christmas tree, reminding us each year of the many enjoyable trips we’ve taken and the wonderful sights we’ve seen by train and car.
