Boeing Plans to Cut 2,000 Jobs in 1991: The aerospace company said it expects to make the cuts at its Washington state operations, largely through retirements and attrition. The company said smoother-running commercial jet factories required fewer workers, while defense and aerospace projects were cut back or delayed. At the end of 1990, Boeing employed 104,500 workers in Washington state and 160,900 worldwide.
