The PAKISTAN government faced mounting protests over its support for the U.S. in the gulf war. Public response in other Muslim nations in ASIA has been muted. Angry demonstrations against U.S. involvement have rocked Pakistan’s cities for several days. But in BANGLADESH, INDONESIA and MALAYSIA, fundamentalist religious groups have stayed largely neutral and governments have kept the lid on pro-Iraqi demonstrations.
