The Saddamwich

The Staggering Ox restaurant in Helena, Mont., has renamed a popular menu item. The “Up OPEC!!” SANDWICH--a concoction of meat, feta and jack cheeses, onions, green peppers, olives and tomatoes--was originally called the “Slam Damn Saddam” and found its way onto the menu after Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait. The owners, who say they like to immortalize things, changed the name because “we figured (Saddam Hussein) has been immortalized enough.” The sandwich features a cucumber dill sauce known as “Camel Spit.”
