Garden Grove : Council Meetings to Be on Tuesdays
Starting March 19, City Council meetings will switch from Monday to Tuesday nights at the urging of the panel’s newest member.
By a 5-0 vote this week, the council agreed to the request of Mark Leyes, who was elected in November. “There is more than one organization that I participate in that I would like to participate in on Monday nights,” he said.
Additionally, the council agreed to begin its meetings earlier, at 7 p.m., instead of the current 7:30 p.m.
Councilman Frank Kessler noted that there might be a benefit in terms of increasing viewership of council meetings, which are telecast on local cable TV. “Many people have told me they wanted to watch the council, but if they had to choose between Monday Night Football and the council, ‘I’m going to watch Monday Night Football,’ ” Kessler said.
