Jewison’s Values

Share

In the Jan. 13 article “Trashing the Pig Years,” director Norman Jewison says, “We have a society made up of everyone out for themselves--Christ, where have our values gone?”

Mr. Jewison, our values have gone where the entertainment industry has taken them. We have studios using creative accounting to cheat writers and actors, athletes who sign a contract and then demand more money to play, and people in the movie industry (such as yourself and “star actors”) who have agents negotiating top-dollar contracts for them.

Everyone wants a bigger piece of the pie, and if you and your ilk can get it, why shouldn’t the rest of us try, as long as we do it legally?
