Microsoft Denies Scrapping OS/2: Microsoft Corp. denied that it was scrapping the OS/2 operating system, but said it was betting on its graphical software program Windows to preserve rapid growth. Sales of Windows, introduced last summer, should double in 1991 to 6 million copies, it said. But responding to recent reports that it would scrap the operating program favored by International Business Machines Corp., Microsoft said the two systems could coexist.
