SIMI VALLEY : Gallegly Appointed to House Panel
Rep. Elton Gallegly, R-Simi Valley, was selected Tuesday to serve on the Europe and the Middle East Subcommittee of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Gallegly, who is entering his third year on the Foreign Affairs Committee, will be the third-ranking Republican on the subcommittee.
“With the war in the Persian Gulf (and) the increasing threat of hard-line repression in the Soviet Union . . . it promises to be a challenging two years,” said Gallegly, who was one of about 20 sponsors of legislation authorizing the President to use force to compel Iraq to withdraw from Kuwait.
