Ferraro Calls for Plans to Step Up Security
- Share via
Because of the Gulf War, Los Angeles Councilman John Ferraro on Thursday called on city agencies to plan for expanding security at city facilities. Ferraro called on the council’s Public Safety Committee to hold special hearings on the security issue within the next few weeks.
Since the war began Jan. 16, the City Council has urged tighter security and asked the Police Department and the Department of General Services to formulate security plans to protect city employees.
The council also asked the Police Department to offer basic security training and information sessions to all city agencies.
Ferraro’s announcement asked that the General Services Department report to the council within 10 days on the security plan.
