Bunka Bunka Holds On to Beat Seattle Wave in Aqueduct Race

ELMONT, N.Y. —
Fox Ridge Farms’ Bunka Bunka took the lead in midstretch and then held to edge Seattle Wave by a neck in the It’s In The Air Stakes at Aqueduct Friday.
Robert Thibeau rode the winner, who carried 119 pounds.
Seattle Wave was ridden by Herb McCauley and closed fast to finish second in the seven-horse field.
The victory was the first in two starts this year for Bunka Bunka, who covered 1 1/8 miles in 1:54.1 to earn $19,800.
Bunka Bunka returned $17.60, $8 and $4. Seattle Wave paid $11.80 and $5.80.
