A Look at Insects--The Oak Canyon Nature Center is hosting a program about the “Insects of Spring” on Saturday. The program will feature slides and a hands-on look at some of the insects common to the area. These include the many different species of beetles, butterflies, grasshoppers, moths, flies and bees found here.

The program begins at 10 a.m. and is open to the public. It will be followed by a short walk around the center to look for the insects discussed. The center is at 6700 E. Walnut Canyon Road, Anaheim. Call (714) 998-8380 for more information.

Bay Tours--The Friends of Upper Newport Bay will offer guided tours of the Back Bay area beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday. The tours are free and will run continuously until 10:15 a.m. Plenty of rails and other birds wintering in the area will be visible, as well as the usual fish, reptiles and small mammals that inhabit the Back Bay year-round.
