A Kuwaiti diplomat flew from Saudi Arabia to TEHRAN with a message to Iranian President Hashemi Rafsanjani from KUWAIT’s exiled emir, Sheik Jabbar al Ahmed al Sabah, the Kuwaiti News Agency said. The contents of the message were not disclosed, but Kuwait has insisted that no settlement short of a total Iraqi pullout be accepted. Iran has been a center for recent diplomatic activity aimed at ending the Gulf War. Rafsanjani had on Saturday refused diplomatic and military requests from Baghdad after meeting with an Iraqi envoy. . . . EGYPT’s opposition leaders condemned the “brutal” war against the Iraqi people and decided to urge President Hosni Mubarak to call for a cease-fire.
