From Times Staff and Wire Reports

An old tradition ended at Princeton University when about 35 women “bickered” for Tiger Inn, the last of the university’s eating clubs to admit female members. Bicker is a process similar to a fraternity rush. “Everyone is pretty psyched to make the best of it,” said Stockton Williams, the club’s undergraduate president. “We want to get the best girls to bicker here. Essentially things about life here will remain unchanged.” Tiger Inn lost a legal battle begun in 1979. The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear its appeal of a state court ruling that the eating clubs must abide by anti-discrimination statutes.
