Regarding your feature on Muslims in the United States: After reading about their religious and life philosophy, is it any wonder why the Muslims are isolated in U.S. culture?
Just what is the advantage of making it harder for women to get a divorce (than it does men)? Inherit half of what a male inherits?
Being prohibited to marry outside the faith if you are a woman? Putting up with possible polygamy? Have no financial obligations and having total dependence on men?
Having to deny a basic human need because to do so would be to consort with men “with a disease in their heart,” for Pete’s sake! Becoming a passive little doormat who’s relegated to talking about families and homes? Are all these the advantages?
Ah, then there’s the great respect these Muslim women get. No freedom but great respect. No, thank you!
