Contel Corp.: Fourth-quarter net income was $59 million, down 29.8% from the 1989 quarter, the Atlanta-based telecommunications company said. Revenue was $898 million, up 8.1%. Full-year net income was $187 million, down 34.8% from 1989; revenue was $3.42 billion, up 9.9%. The decline in net income reflected the first-quarter acquisition of 13 southeastern U.S. cellular systems and a restructuring, the company said.
