It was another setback for fans longing to see Angelyne, the struggling actress whose credits include self-promoting billboards in Hollywood but just a few bit movie roles.

Angelyne, you may recall, once bragged: “I’m the first person in the history of Hollywood to ever become famous for nothing.”

Last weekend, Angelyne, now 31--her portrait never ages--popped up on a billboard near Spring and 3rd streets. That area isn’t known as a hotbed for talent scouts, but at least she was a diverting sight for downtown workers. Two days later, her face was gone, pout and all.

“Oh, we had just moved that billboard there (from Hollywood),” explained Terry Neale of Shields Outdoor Advertising. “Someone else is going to have the space. That (Angelyne) was old copy, and we coated it out.”

For the moment, only a few of Angelyne’s teased tresses remain on the billboard.

Another bit part.

At the age of 80, Ronald Reagan experienced a bit of deja blew.

When he leaned forward to extinguish the candles on his birthday cake at Chasen’s restaurant last Friday night, he smudged his tuxedo with vanilla frosting.

Fortunately, the jacket was back from the cleaners in time for his big birthday bash at the Beverly Hilton Wednesday night. And, as he blew out the candles there, he again brushed against the icing, causing wife Nancy to burst into laughter.

Spokesman Bill Garber asserted there was a design flaw in the cake--the top tier, which held the candles, was too small, causing the ex-President to lean over too far.

But Reagan, joking about his klutziness, said: “If I’d only thought about things like that years ago, I’d have been twice as good in pictures.”

And maybe he would have become a TV star instead of President?
