Heart Month Proclaimed

WASHINGTON —
President Bush on Thursday proclaimed February as National Heart Month and called on Americans to make a commitment to fighting heart disease. In his proclamation, Bush said that heart attacks, strokes and other forms of cardiovascular disease “continue to claim the lives of nearly 1 million Americans every year--one American approximately every 32 seconds.”
