In Amman, U.S. Ambassador Roger Harrison met with JORDANIAN Foreign Affairs Minister Taher Masri to protest King Hussein’s impassioned address to his nation, in which he accused the anti-Iraq coalition of waging war “against all Arabs and Muslims.” In ISRAEL, Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir also reacted with concern. He told a news conference near Tel Aviv: “Hussein’s speech worries us because, after all, he’s our neighbor and everything that happens there influences what’s happening here.” In Tehran, IRANIAN President Hashemi Rafsanjani met with Foreign Minister Ahmet Kurtcebe Alptemocin of TURKEY. He said Iran will continue efforts to end the war.
