OIL: Crude closed at $21.22 per barrel, down 27 cents, on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
DOW INDUSTRIALS: After rising 100.25 points in the week’s first three sessions, the index dropped 20.30 to 2,820.64.
CREDIT MARKETS: Bond prices declined amid sluggish demand.
METALS: Gold rose $4.90 an ounce to $367.80 on New York’s Commodity Exchange.
CURRENCY: The dollar edged higher in domestic trading for the first time in more than a week after two central banks intervened to shore up the flagging U.S. currency.
