TransTechnology Corp. reported a $536,000 loss for its fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a $348,000 profit a year earlier.
The Sherman Oaks-based company, which makes electronic components and other equipment for the military and industrial markets, said the loss came on an 8% drop in revenue to $45.6 million from $49.5 million. The company blamed the declines on the “recessionary business environment.”
For the first nine months of its fiscal year, TransTechnology lost $987,000, which included a $1.7-million loss from discontinued operations, on revenue of $135.6 million. A year earlier, the company lost $3.82 million--which included a $3.55-million loss from discontinued lines--on revenue of $136.2 million.
