SPI Pharmaceuticals Inc.: The Costa Mesa-based company reported fourth-quarter net income of $4.7 million, an increase of 28% over the year-ago period, on revenue of $43.6 million, a 24% rise from 1989. Annual earnings climbed 16% to $14.9 million, while revenue increased 13% to $140.7 million. The company said gains were registered in all major prescription pharmaceutical product lines, and it was the fifth straight year for sales and earnings to reach all-time highs.
