Westland Lynx 3
The Westland Lynx 3 is a British helicopter that has played a key role in the allied effort to neutralize the Iraqi naval presence in the northern Gulf. In a recent engagement, a Lynx from the destroyer Gloucester fired two surface-skimming Sea Skua missiles to knock out an Iraqi TNC-45 patrol boat believed armed with as many as four Exocet anti-ship missiles. The Lynx 3 is also used in ground warfare, fitted with antitank weapons.
