A man who San Diego police believe has been involved in 10 fast-food restaurant robberies may have struck again Tuesday, this time in North Park.
San Diego Police spokesman Bill Robinson said a man armed with a large-caliber semi-automatic handgun entered the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant near 28th and University Avenue at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The man asked for the manager, then forced five people to the back of the restaurant, Robinson said.
The man took about $600 from three cash registers and a safe in what is believed to be the 11th in a rash of robberies that began in early January, Robinson said. Most were committed in San Diego and Lemon Grove.
