ORANGE : Lecture to Focus on Children’s Reading
- Share via
Jim Trelease, author of “The New Read Aloud Handbook,” will lecture Thursday on how to “turn kids on to reading” in just 15 minutes a day.
Trelease’s presentation at Chapman College will suggest that reading to children is the most important factor in raising a successful reader. Using storytelling and statistics, Trelease’s talk is “like a live version of his book,” said Pamela Perkins, director of the Kathleen Muth International Reading and Learning Center.
A book fair presented by the Half Magic Book Store of Tustin will accompany the lecture, which begins at 7 p.m. in the college’s International Reading Center. Information: (714) 997-6613.
