NAMES IN THE GAMES

Greg Anthony and Stacey Augmon of top-ranked UNLV have taped public service announcements in support of U.S. troops fighting in the Persian Gulf War. All-America forward Larry Johnson also plans to tape a similar message. The messages will be broadcast nationally and by the Armed Forces network overseas.

In his message, Augmon says, “America often looks to athletes as their heroes. We’re here to tell you the real heroes are those guys and gals who are putting their lives on the line for us over there.”
