Regarding the color of the ancient Egyptians: When Egyptian muralists depict foreigners, they show their eastern Semitic neighbors with distinctly lighter skin and their southern black neighbors with distinctly darker skin than themselves.

Ancient Egypt had a considerable black and mulatto minority, particularly in the south, some of whom rose to positions of power. But the Egyptians were certainly not a black nation in the way the Yorubas or the Zulus are a black nation.
