News Corp.: The Sydney, Australia-based media conglomerate said its second-quarter profit jumped 60% to $124 million on revenue that surged 30% to $2.3 million. The company said several smash hits from its 20th Century Fox movie unit and favorable foreign exchange rates contributed to the jump in earnings.
