A tentative agreement has been reached in the 12-day-old strike by more than 1,400 production workers at the Harley-Davidson motorcycle assembly plant in southeast Pennsylvania’s York County.

A spokeswoman for the International Assn. of Machinists and Aerospace Workers said the agreement was reached late Thursday. Meetings continued today to put the final touches on contract language before presenting it to members for a vote Saturday.

Terms of the tentative pact were not disclosed.

The 1,462 union workers, who assemble the motorcycles from engines and parts made at other Harley-Davidson plants in Wisconsin, which were not affected, went on strike Feb. 3.
