A man has pleaded guilty to showing pornographic magazines and materials to children playing outside a Westside synagogue in the Park La Brea district and has been sentenced to 45 days in jail, prosecutors said Thursday.
B.J. Theus, 43, entered his plea late Wednesday before Municipal Court Judge Marilyn Hoffman to one count of exhibiting harmful material to a minor.
Hoffman also ordered to undergo psychiatric counseling for sex offenders, serve two years of supervised probation and to stay away from the synagogue and children without adult supervision. Theus has been in jail in lieu of $25,000 bail since his arrest on Jan. 11.
