PEORIA, Ill. — Authorities said today that they will charge a Peoria woman with involuntary manslaughter for allegedly suffocating her 2-month-old son by falling asleep on him while she was drunk.
Gloria Ann Draine, 30, also will face child neglect and child endangerment charges. The incident occurred Wednesday night and Mark Talley, 46, who lives with Draine, will also face neglect and endangerment charges.
Police said Draine pushed the boy’s body into the couch when she lay on him.
Police said another child, a 10-year-old, ran to a phone booth after the dead child was discovered and called authorities.
