Baker on U.S. Rebuilding Iraq After War
No matter how we feel about war in the Persian Gulf, we can surely agree that if one parent is already deployed, the second parent should be assigned stateside.
The dilemma facing Michelle Thomas (Feb. 1) is not right, is not necessary and goes against our family values. No American child should face becoming a war orphan if it is in our power to prevent it.
Policy must immediately dictate that only one parent may be sent to the Gulf, not both!
There is no time to delay.
