Alfred Hitchcock Presents was a showcase for both veteran and up-and-coming stars. Beginning Sunday, Nick at Nite features “Famous Faces on Alfred Hitchcock Presents” (Sunday-Friday at 11 p.m. on Nickelodeon). Among the famous faces: Rip Torn (Sunday), Walter Matthau (Monday), Barbara Bel Geddes (Tuesday), actor-turned-film director Sydney Pollack (Wednesday), Dick York and Gena Rowlands (Thursday) and Arte Johnson (Friday).

A year after Chevy Chase left “Saturday Night Live” in 1976 for movie stardom in Hollywood, he returned to host. The Best of Saturday Night (Sunday at 10 p.m. on Nickelodeon) also features Billy Joel as the musical guest performing his then-No. 1 song “Just the Way You Are.”

Lucy and Ricky head for Hollywood when Ricky gets an offer to star in “Don Juan” this week on I Love Lucy on KTTV. The episodes, though, are not in order: Ricky learns he has been cast in the movie (Monday at 9:30 a.m.). Ricky takes a screen test for the movie when a Hollywood talent scout spots him (Tuesday at 9 a.m.). Lucy volunteers her services to appear in a screen test with Ricky after she reads Ava Gardner and Marilyn Monroe have been suggested as his co-star (Wednesday at 9 a.m.). Lucy spots actor William Holden sitting in the next booth at the Brown Derby Restaurant (Wednesday at 11 p.m). Lucy believes Ricky spent the night with five gorgeous starlets (Thursday at 11 p.m.). Lucy gets a part in a MGM musical but has trouble with her headdress (Friday at 11 p.m.). Sheila MacRae (then-wife of Gordon MacRae) and the wives of William Holden, Richard Carlson, Dean Martin and Van Heflin join Lucy for a celebrity fashion show (Saturday at 4 p.m.). Hedda Hopper stops by to meet Lucy and Ricky (Saturday at 4:30 p.m.).
