Child Development Resources of Ventura County has received a $200,000 grant to train day-care providers and to conduct workshops for parents during the next three years.

The three-year grant from the Dayton Hudson Foundation will help finance 16-hour training sessions for as many as 400 family day-care providers in the county. It will also help the providers obtain national accreditation, the foundation announced.

The workshops, to be held at area businesses, will be aimed at educating employers and parents on ways to select quality day-care programs.
