Hazardous Waste Collection Saturday

Los Angeles residents will be able to dispose of unwanted chemicals at a household hazardous waste roundup in Sun Valley on Saturday, city sanitation officials have announced.
Containers of paint, motor oil, pesticides and cleansers will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the city’s East Valley refuse collection yard at 9701 San Fernando Road in Sun Valley. There will be no charge for the service, but waste generated by small businesses and industry will not be accepted, officials said. Residents are asked not to bring empty containers or dried-up paint, not to mix wastes, to keep products in original containers and place leaky containers within larger leakproof containers. They also are asked to transport waste in a cardboard box.
