President’s Proposals on Energy

Share

When Saddam Hussein dumps millions of barrels of oil into the Persian Gulf, destroying ecosystems and degrading the environment, that’s called “environmental terrorism.”

When Bush proposes to degrade pristine Alaskan land to drill for oil, which when burned will send carbon monoxide into the Earth’s atmosphere to wreak more havoc on the environment, and to throw more money away on expensive and potentially dangerous nuclear energy, that’s called a “national energy strategy.”

It is irresponsible and reprehensible that the U.S. does not have an energy plan that conserves non-renewable energy supplies and makes use of cleaner, less destructive energy sources. Shame on the “Environmental President.” Shame on all of us for buying idle campaign talk, and even more shame on us if we allow this so-called “energy strategy” to be implemented.
