Alpharel Reports Its 1st Profitable Year Since ’86

Alpharel, a Camarillo company that makes computer data storage devices, reported a profit of $278,000 for the fourth quarter that ended Dec. 31, contrasted with a loss of $5.19 million a year ago. The company said it had revenues of $1.51 million during the three-month period, a 50% increase from $1.01 million a year before.

For the year that ended Dec. 31, Alpharel said it had a profit of $153,000, contrasted with a net loss of $12.3 million in 1989. It was the Alpharel’s first profitable year since 1986. The company’s revenue for 1990 climbed 22% to $5.34 million from $4.38 million in 1989.
