THE GULF WAR : Blood Donations
The desire to aid the war in the Persian Gulf has prompted so many blood donations on the homefront that now there is a MINOR GLUT IN CALIFORNIA. Some blood banks are taking donations by appointment only. And banks around the state are beginning to take pledges rather than blood since donated blood has a shelf life of only 42 days.
