THE GULF WAR: The International Front : Chemical ‘Casualty’
The threat of chemical warfare in the Gulf War sent Sgt. Roy Taylor home. It’s not the risk he couldn’t take--but the outfit. The 44-year-old member of the 211th Military Police Company from Clyde, N.C., is ALLERGIC TO HIS CHEMICAL WARFARE SUIT; since October he had suffered from swollen eyes and rashes. “I left three hours before the ground war started,” Taylor said recently from a stateside Army hospital. “I don’t feel relieved. I wish I was there.”
