REAL ESTATE

Slump? What Slump?: It is hard sometimes to get realtors and builders to acknowledge that there is anything much amiss with the real estate market. A high-ranking official at one major home building firm refers to the last 18 months as merely a “hiccup.” And for most of last year, as home sales fell by 15% and 20% a month, many in the industry kept insisting that we were merely returning to normal after the boom of 1988-89.

Now the California Assn. of Realtors is sponsoring a series of conferences it says are designed to help realtors succeed in “a changing real estate market.”

The Orange County session, set for April 17 at the Anaheim Convention Center, includes sections on adapting to market fluctuations and increasing productivity.
