Bank of Boston Reportedly Approaches Buffett: The bank, suffering from New England’s real estate crash, has approached billionaire investor Warren E. Buffett for capital, possibly to bid on the failed Bank of New England, according to a published report. Buffett was one of several potential investors approached in recent weeks about purchasing a special issue of Bank of Boston stock, according to the Wall Street Journal. The Bank of Boston declined to comment, and Omaha-based Buffett could not be reached.
