NATION IN BRIEF : SOUTH CAROLINA : Ex-Lawmakers Plead Guilty to Bribery

Two former South Carolina legislators pleaded guilty to selling their votes to an undercover FBI informant during a corruption investigation. Former Democratic state Reps. Frank McBride and James Faber admitted they accepted bribes from a lobbyist to support a bill that would have legalized betting on horse and dog races. The two are among 20 lawmakers and lobbyists snared in an FBI sting dubbed Operation Lost Trust. Most are charged with bribery; one lawmaker and several lobbyists face drug charges.
