Northridge Site of 4-Way Meet

Cal State Northridge will have a full complement on hand for the first time this season when the Matadors play host to USC, Stanford and UC Irvine in a quadrangular track and field meet today.

The meet will start at noon with the hammer throw, pole vault and women’s long jump..

The USC women, led by defending NCAA javelin champion Ashley Selman, are a heavy favorite, but the men’s meet is expected to be closer.

Wes Dunston (100, 200, 400 relay) and Mike Lewis (400) will make their Northridge debuts after transferring from Adams State (Alamosa, Colo.) and Chabot (Hayward) College.

Walt Stewart, the 1989 Division II high jump champion, also will compete after redshirting last season.
