Jerusalem Official Calls for a Schwarzkopf Street
The chairman of the Jerusalem City Council’s ruling coalition wants a street or square named after Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf, U.S. commander of Operation Desert Storm.
Emmanuel Zisman, who is also a Labor Party member of Parliament, told reporters Saturday that he would make a formal proposal today to the council.
This would be “modest thanks from the people of Jerusalem to Gen. Schwarzkopf, to the American soldiers and the allied armies who risked their lives to remove one of the greatest security threats facing Israel,” he said.
