California IN BRIEF : SAN RAFAEL : Porn Czar’s Bail Plea Withdrawn
Defense attorneys for pornography king Jim Mitchell, charged with murdering his brother, Artie, withdrew their request for a bail hearing after a psychological evaluation convinced them that their client should not be released, prosecutors said. Deputy Dist. Atty. Chuck Cacciatore said the hearing was rescheduled for March 19 after Mitchell’s attorneys decided against the bail hearing. Artie Mitchell, 45, was shot to death in his Corte Madera home last Wednesday night. His 47-year-old brother has pleaded innocent to the murder.
