Intruder Saw Reagan as ‘Antichrist,’ Court Told
A man who broke into Ronald Reagan’s Bel-Air estate last July 4 told the federal agents who arrested him that he believed the former President was “the Antichrist” and must be killed, a prosecutor told jurors as the man’s trial opened Tuesday.
The federal court jury trial for Gregory S. Gordon got under way before U.S. District Judge Edward Rafeedie with brief opening arguments by the prosecution and defense. Neither side disputed the assertion that Gordon jumped a security fence and walked into the foyer of the Reagan home while the former President and his wife, Nancy, were home. The Reagans were in another part of the property and were not injured.
